End of the world?

Many people foresee that the world will end by December 21, 2012 in where the Maya Calendar ends. The most popular concept was the Dooms day in which the world will end brutally. The December 21 is also a day with the shortest amount of daylight received every year.

The Dooms day concepts were predicted to be due on collisions or going closer to other planet called Planet X or Nibiru. The idea of Planet X or the Nibiru started in 90s when a woman showed and claim to have extraterrestrial communicator device implanted on her brain when she was a child. She also claimed that she frequently communicates to the grey extraterrestrial.

The grey extraterrestrials presaged the woman to be alarmed about the incoming Planet X that would pass through the planet Earth and may cause a massive disaster. According to her, the planet X is four times larger from our planet and will pass through the planet Earth by May 27, 2003. She also included that the Earth will stop rotating for 5.9 days followed by a pole shifting resulting to crust displacement of our planet.

She also advised people to put down their pets as partaking on the event but nothing happened. After that she changed her story but her followers still believe on her and instead, move the date on the Dooms day – that was December 21, 2012.

Planets that resemble the size of what she said and the closest planets were Jupiter and Saturn and there are no signs of Planet X existence. In supplementary, when a planet comes closer to another planet, it will cause gravitational repulsion affecting other planets in our solar system.

Some people also believed that December 21, 2012 is the end of the Mayan Calendar in which the world also ends. It is the end of the b’ak’tun period on the Mayan long-count calendar. The Gregorian Calendar ends every December 31 then proceed to the next year while the Mayan Calendar ends every December 21 then proceed to the next b’ak’tun.

As a result, many people misconstrue the Mayan Calendar in which they most believe that the world will have catastrophic event in December 21, 2012. Even Mayans do not believe on the said prediction and there is no such thing as end of the world.

The prophecy says that the Earth, the Sun and the Center of our Milky Way will align on December 21, 2012. In fact, the sun and the center of the Milky Way will align every December especially on winter solstice and there is no reason for December 21, 2012 to be different.

On the other hand, another prophecy claims that Earth will shift its pole – from North to South and South to North. This idea comes after the declaration of Albert Einstein that the Earth is starting to shift its poles. According to some Physicists that, it takes 7, 000 years for it to reach the final phase of pole shifting – there is no concept of any catastrophe or massive destructions. They clarified that pole shifting is a natural attitude of a planet since every planet contains magnetic field.

Also some people believed that the sun will release a massive solar eruption of plasma or super storms on the said date of the end of the world. Some people believed that it will cause a prompt pole shifting. According to scientists that the Sun is on an 11-year cycle of a Coronal Mass Ejections and we will expect to experience the peak of the cycle from 2012 to 2014. They also clarified that the solar maximum is not alarming and do not differ much on previous Coronal Mass Ejections.

Not to forget, another prophecy says that an asteroid was set to strike the Earth on the same date. Astronomers confirmed that there are no signs or sightings from approaching asteroids.

However, many people still believe on the end of the world that was due on December 21, 2012. There is nothing to worry about as scientists are intensively monitoring our planet from any catastrophe, but as of now, there are no signs of massive destructions or anything that would cause Earth to end.
