As we live our lives in 2012, many have been looking forward to the prediction of the Mayan calendar that would have end by December 21, 2012. This paranormal belief would have end up as false or true, only the December 21, 2012 could tell us.

Chichen Itza is one of the traces of Mayans in the Yucatan area. According to some tourist guide that the place was a site of paranormal activities as it involves with destructive ghost and spirits.

Olmec, Toltec, and Classical Mayan phases haven’t survived the colonization of European of the New World.

What makes it interesting is that the Mayans tend to prophecies the 2012 ending. According to the Mayans that the world had already died and born again, that is why their Mayan Calendar is cyclical and its recent cycle will end on December 21, 2012.

“The age of water, was brought to an end by the flood a new age was born, an age of fire.” according to a Mayan guide. The prophecy of flood throughout regions was already formulated ever before the time of Mayans. He also said that we are already at the age of fire and that what makes the prophecy of 2012 to end up with massive fire distractions as December 21, 2012 is the death of Fire age. But a New World is waiting according to Mayans.

What the Mayans trying to imply is that every death is a rebirth of a new beginning – where after the end of the world we’ll have a new beginning.

Going back to the Chichen Itza, the place has a history of blood sheds. According to them, it is an honour to die for the Gods than doing nothing. In the Mayan Bible Popul Vuh, the book demonstrates how loyal and faithful the Mayans are even to die for the sake of their Gods.

In fact, Mayans are not afraid of death rather believing it as a passage way to eternal life – for them, to die is a great honour. The Chichen Itza was also the site of mass sacra fices.

Archaeologists believed that Chichen Itza was involved on a great civil war as evidences have shown them. After Europe ruined the Chichen Itza, the place was announced to be a ghost city.

What makes the place interesting is that Chichen Itza is the place of sacrifice in which blood stains can be seen on stones inside. The remaining and quiet blood stains were believed by spectres of old priests and Mayan men that the place is haunted.

Mayans are also great astronomers and astrophysicists for they had computed the circumference of the Earth before the Europeans came. They were able to map the stars and predict astrological events excellently.

The most significant place for Mayans is religion and there they would sacrifice themselves to be with their Gods but those that searched for knowledge in the light of the stars are still lingering.
